Ken Olsen, founder of Digital Equipment Corporation and a pioneer in computing has sadly passed away at age 84. Along with his company he helped create one of the first digital computers for commercial use. His death was confirmed by Massachusetts’ Gordon College.
DEC went on to became the second biggest computer company behind IBM during its heyday. Olsen thanks to his innovation in this field helped also inspire many others, like for example Bill Gates, who wrote a letter saying:
