Lady Gaga’s new album Born This Way has banged up U.S. digital album sales records by hitting first-week estimates of 662,000.
The album has climbed into the top of the U.S. charts, as anticipated, with 1.1 million copies distributed and over half of all gross sales were from internet downloads.
Born This Way becomes the 17th record album to sell a million in a week since SoundScan started tracking sales information in 1991. It is the highest sales week for a record album after 50
