The E. coli outbreak in Germany is a fresh variety of the bacteria, researchers and world health experts believe.
It may induce the lethal complication, haemolytic-uraemic syndrome (HUS), impacting the blood and kidneys.
Over 1,500 people have been contaminated and 18 of them have died: 17 in Germany and 1 in Sweden.
Seven domicile in the UK have the contagion, including 3 British nationals. They’re all believed to have contracted it in Germany.
