Much of Iowa received welcome rains last week

Topsoil moistures in Iowa improved from the previous week and are now rated 61 percent adequate to surplus. Subsoil moisture also improved slightly to 58 percent adequate to surplus.
Corn silage harvest continues and seed corn is being harvested as well. Fourteen percent of the Iowa corn crop is now mature, that is behind last year’s thirty-one percent and the normal of fifteen percent. The corn condition stands at fifty-five percent good to excellent.
