Not enough data to assess antibiotic resistance

A new report from the General Accounting Office says the U.S. government does not collect enough basic data on drug use in livestock to make a decision on antibiotic resistance. The report was prepared at the request of New York Representative Louise Slaughter who has introduced bills seeking to restrict antibiotic use in livestock.
