Tough times for poultry producers

The poultry industry is going through a tough time right now.
Over-production and sagging exports have pushed chicken prices lower, while feed corn and fuel costs remain high. Sanderson Farms, one of the nation’s largest poultry producers, says it lost 56 million dollars last quarter, despite higher sales. Tyson Foods says its chicken segment likely will lose money in the fourth quarter.
