West Nile Virus hits Wisconsin horse

Wisconsin has its first confirmed case of West Nile Virus in a horse. A 10-year-old horse in Clark County displayed symptoms of the disease last week and samples were submitted August 30th. The horse had not been vaccinated for the virus. Clark County Public Health Nurse Sabrina Meddaugh says the discovery confirms mosquitoes in the area are carrying the disease so horses should be vaccinated and people in the area should be on the look-out.
