A western South Dakota cattle producer has been elected president of the South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC), the state Beef Checkoff. Ed Blair of Vale is partnered with his family in Blair Brothers Angus. Blair has been vice president of the council and has been active at the state and national level in beef industry promotion. He replaces Merrill Karlen of Oacoma who has served as president for two years.
