The Gotham Awards aren’t the greatest awards gave out on the movie awards time of year, but they may be the most meaningful for the people who get it. Concentrating on independent movies, occasionally with a New York-centric angle, the Gothams generally pick a few movies that are overly small even for the Indie Spirits, whilst some of the times tossing in more big releases that will pop up at the Oscars anyhow.
