Gillard tiptoes around hospital reforms – Sydney Morning Herald

Prime Minister Julia Gillard has dodged questions over reports that she is planning to dump Kevin Rudd’s hospital reforms.
Ms Gillard wants states to dump her predecessor’s plan to make the commonwealth the dominant funder of public hospitals in exchange for 30 per cent of their GST.
Under her plan, there would be no clawback of GST revenue and the federal government would fund only 40 per cent, not 60 per cent, of public hospitals.
