cherry blossom festival helped japan disaster It is being called “Stand with Japan Walk,” and it is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (Thursday night) as a show of unity with those suffering from the earthquake and tsunami.
Walkers are asked to meet at the Sylvan Theater at 15th Street and Independence Avenue.
Donations are voluntary and will go directly to the National Cherry Blossom Festival Red Cross fund.
The Cherry Blossom Festival runs through April 10, including the traditional parade
