The cutting-edge interface on the block, Thunderbolt, is hardly on the marketplace and there is already discussion about its successor. It’s a fine four years down the road, naturally, but there are already samples and Intel is already babbling it up. Unluckily, it does not have a nerveless code name as yet, but they will fix that soon.
The new tech applies Si photonics, and we last got a line from these guys once they arrive at the major milestone of 50Gbps applying their prototype hardware
