Official final result displayed Michel Martelly acquired 67.6% of the vote in the run-off on 20 March, voting down onetime first lady Mirlande Manigat.
Talking after the results were brought in public, Michel Martelly stated he would seek to work harmonically with the opposition, after an election spoilt by wild protests and charges of fraud.
He will take authority on 14 May.
