What will Barack Obama do to boost the U.S. economy?

After the debt ceiling crisis was elapsed, President Obama now prepares to face the new problem which plaguing the American economy nowadays: employment crisis.
Part of his prescription for 2012 revolves around cutting payroll taxes by 2 percentage points and extending unemployment benefits. The idea is give people more money to spend in the market, which will increase businesses activity and hire additional workers to meet the demand. But, those programs already in place, so what the matter?
