Obama Calls for Syrian President To Resign

WASHINGTON – U.S. President Barack Obama called on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to withdraw. Obama accused the Assad had committed “heinous brutality” by ordering the invasion of operations to the cities to quell anti-government protesters.
In a statement, Obama also announced two new sanctions against the Assad regime, including a ban on all business dealings with U.S. citizens and freezing Syrian government assets.
