Usain Bolt noted his comeback to major competition after a 10-month absence by a victory in the men’s 100 metres at the Diamond League meeting in Rome on Thursday night.
The world record holder shrugged off a hapless start to overtake his Jamaican compatriot Asafa Powell and win in 9.91 seconds. Powell was second in 9.93 with Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre in third.
Despite his win it was a slow performance from Bolt, who was very slow out of the blocks and seemed like he had applied
